Maria Orban is the author of the novels Oameni mari (Grown-ups), released in 2020 and Toată dragostea dintr-o fotografie arsă (All the Love in a Burnt Photograph) published in 2023, both by Nemira Publishing House.

She has published short fiction in literary magazines and, in 2021, she won the Write a screenplay for… competition, organized by the Cinemascop Association with the support of HBO Europe, for her screenplay: Timp de expunere limitat (Limited Exposure Time).

She also completed a playwriting residency at Reactor of Creation and Experiment in Cluj-Napoca, where she wrote the play: Efectul Maia (The Maia Effect), in 2025.
