Francesca Leotta (1991) was born in Rome. She studied Foreign Languages and Literatures in Bologna and completed her Bachelor’s programme with a dissertation about José Saramago's translations in Italian. She holds a Master’s degree in Literary Translation from the University of Pisa, where she specialised in Theatre Translation. In 2016 she worked as a trainee translator in the Department of Humanities at Coimbra University. Her translation of a German contemporary play was staged on national premiere in Livorno in November 2017. After experiences with technical translation and post-editing, she dedicated herself to her passion for languages by teaching Italian in Austria. She currently lives and works in Latina, Italy.
